Whats your worldview?

What we believe or assume about the world affects how we live in it, what we do, what we don't do and ultimately grounds all the big decisions we make in it. James Sire describes a worldview as:
"A worldview is a set of presuppositions (or assumptions) which we hold (consciously or subconsciously) about the basic make-up of our world."
Our worldview is one of the most important things to test, since if our worldview doesn't stand up to scrutiny then surely we have a responsibility to change it and live in accordance to one which does. What's your world-view and does it stand up to scrutiny?

For a good introductory article on worldviews you can read a great article at Probe here.

A redeemed mind is a terrible thing to waste.

What I believe is not listed. Maybe I don't have a world view. I will read more about it.

Hi a Gracious Home,

everyone has a world-view its just that it would be almost impossible to make such a map that included every possibility. This is in part because some people are not consistent and borrow from several different world-views, also since the map was designed by a Christian its limited in its scope. Its more of a thought experiment to get you think about whether you believe is defensible or not.

For starters I suppose, what do believe about the existence of God? From this will flow all sorts of different questions.

Thanks,

Daniel
